What You Will Learn in a Permanent Makeup Apprenticeship
Do you want to be a permanent makeup technician? Before you get to that stage, you need to go apprenticeship first. Simply put, this stage lets you practice your skills while being paid.
It comes with no pressure and you are being guided by a licensed supervisor throughout the process. Here are some of the things you will learn from your Permanent Makeup Apprenticeship at the Midwest Permanent Makeup & Apprenticeship:
A body art technician needs to master color theory and pigments. A client may ask for a color that suits her, so you have to be prepared in giving advice or suggestions. In this stage, you will learn about color correction techniques. You will learn about the commonly used shades in permanent makeup, particularly in microblading.
Before the procedure itself, the technician needs to ready the procedure room, including the supplies, instruments, and furniture needed. As a body art technician, you will be responsible for the safety and cleanliness of your procedure room. There are several types of permanent makeup procedures you can learn with us. Aside from the popular microblading, you will also learn how to do a permanent eyeliner, lip liner, full lip, and microbalding eyebrows.
Equipment and maintenance
There are several types of machines used in the permanent cosmetics industry. For microblading, you will need a hand tool and needle. A permanent makeup technician must learn how to identify the right needle for every client. For people with naturally thin brows, a thinner needle can help achieve a better result than using a thick needle. On the other hand, a thicker needle will be appropriate for clients with thick brows.
Knowing how to do permanent makeup is a skill you can always learn. But learning how to deal with clients is a different story. It requires a strategy. Photography is another thing we discuss in the consultation aspect, as you will need a portfolio of your work. Your client will normally request for the before and after pictures to know what to expect from your services.
